Keryflex- Professional Nail Restoration

Keryflex is a cosmetic treatment designed to improve the appearance of damaged nails. It is a light-weight resin which provides a durable, natural-looking covering over your real nail that can be shaped and polished. Keryflex is an in-clinic procedure applied by a qualified health professional, such as a trained podiatrist.

Why Keryflex?

  • Looks and feels completely natural

  • Provides cosmetic enhancement for damaged nails (i.e. due to trauma, psoriasis, discolouration)

  • Unlike rigid acrylic nails, Keryflex nails have flexibility thereby bending with the natural movement of toes and feet

  • Will not irritate or cause further damage to the underlying nail or skin

  • Allows for the remaining nail to grow out naturally

  • Applied in a hygienic clinic setting by a foot care provider

  • Non-porous and unaffected by nail polishes or detergents

  • Is available in two colours: natural (transparant) and opaque (milky)

  • Breathable

What is the Keryflex procedure?

  1. Once your foot care provider have determined KeryFlex is right for you, the damaged nail is trimmed and filed down as much as possible.

  2. Once the nail is prepared a bonding agent is applied, followed by the resin. This material is hardened with an ultraviolet light. The nail is then molded, shaped and filed smooth. Lastly, a sealant will be applied and cured with the light one final time.

  3. In most cases, the procedure can be completed in 30 minutes or less, and depends on the condition of your nail and number of nails needing to be restored. Your podiatrist will advise you on session times for your individual needs.

  4. KeryFlex is best taken off within 4-6 weeks by your foot care provider so as to avoid moisture buildup or furthur infection under the nail.

When to avoid KeryFlex:

  • When there are open lesions

  • Arterial insufficiency

  • With active fungal nails

  • Allergy to Resin
